Meet Don Foti
Don Foti started with American Income Life in 1979 in Los Angeles, California at the age of 19. At this time Bernard Rapoport the founder of American Income was at the helm and Don feels so blessed to have known and been guided by Bernard as he was so young. Don also was recruited by Lenny Lenard, who mentored him to success as a Top Agent. Don then moved north to Concord CA in 1986 and worked under John Jatoft and Phil Hart, where he started to make his mark as a General Agent and as a Top Producer till 1989-90. Don then took the Opportunity of a Lifetime as American Income Life was expanding Internationally under the Altig Agency and moved north again to Vancouver, Canada from 1989 to 1996.During these years Don helped to expand the Altig Agency and American Income Life with expansion in Western Canada and opened offices in Minnesota and Tennessee. Reaching the highest level under the Altig Agency as a Regional General Agent and helping to make the Altig Agency the largest Agency in American Income Life, Don looked to his next Opportunity. In 1996 Don came back to California to partner with John Jatoft and became a State General Agent. Since then, the Northern California office has grown in Agents and now has offices in Concord, Sacramento, San Jose and Fresno. With the retirement of John Jatoft this year, Don carries on the same traditions with more passion. With the retirement of Bernard Rapoport and his move to further his legacy by passing the torch to Torchmark Corp to take his company to the next level, Don has a greater desire to reach higher heights and is always looking for those that understand what Opportunity Unlimited means, as it has meant to him in his 35 year history and leave that Legacy with his TEAM and the Company. Most of all he is a unique Leader in that he takes the time to COACH those willing to listen, and put in the effort.
In 1993, Bernard Rapoport, Chairman Emeritus, American Income Life, wrote this about Don Foti and his work in Vancouver, "The leader is Don Foti of British Columbia. Of course, he is first in year-to-date production. The first six months of this AIL year, he has produced $899,562 of Net ALP. What is so exciting about Don is he is consistently breaking every single AIL record we have ever had. He keeps on charging and for him the record of today is one that must be broken tomorrow. I have written about him for close to 10 years and I never get tired of it. One thing for certain -- his exploits not only test my vocabulary, but require that I reread the dictionary to make certain that I give him his proper due. Wynn Davis said, 'We achieve to the degree that we overcome the negative. Achievers are willing to pay the price of achievement. They sacrifice, struggle, work on, perhaps alone, weary and discouraged, and yet at each step overcome the negative.' Because of what I have just said, I resort to these words to explain this unusual, talented and aspiring leader, Don Foti by name."
